Privacy Policy

What we collect, who receives it, and the choices you have — written for students, parents and partners.

Last updated:

  1. Who we are

    School2Startup is a youth innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. We run community programs, competitions, events and learning opportunities for students and young builders, and we operate this website.

    For anything relating to your information, write to hello@school2startup.co.in. We read every privacy request sent to this address.

  2. What information we collect

    The information involved depends entirely on how you interact with us. Browsing the website, registering for a community, entering a programme, applying for an internship and chatting with our AI assistant are separate processes and are not treated the same way.

    • Browsing — no account, no sign-up, no profile.
    • Community registration — the details you enter into a registration form hosted by a third-party form provider.
    • Programme and competition registration — often handled by the organiser or partner platform running that programme, on their own systems.
    • Internship applications — the details you enter into our application form hosted by a third-party form provider.
    • S2S X (AI assistant) — the messages you choose to type.

    Different programmes use different forms, so the fields asked for vary. Depending on the form, the information involved may include:

    • name;
    • email address;
    • phone or WhatsApp number;
    • school or college;
    • class or year of study;
    • city and state;
    • age or date of birth, where a programme needs it for eligibility;
    • areas of interest;
    • application or entry responses;
    • resumes / CVs;
    • portfolios or work samples;
    • project and team information;
    • anything else you choose to send us voluntarily.

    Not every item above is collected from every person. A given form only collects what that specific programme, community or role actually requires.

  3. Information collected directly through this website

    You do not need an account to browse School2Startup. We do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels or behavioural profiling on this site, and we do not build visitor profiles in our own database.

    Our hosting and backend providers process standard technical request data — such as IP address, approximate request time, browser and device type — in order to deliver pages, keep the site available and protect it from abuse. This is ordinary infrastructure logging and is not used to identify you personally or to advertise to you.

    The partnership inquiry form on this site is operated by School2Startup itself. What you type into it — organisation, your name, email address, optional phone number, partnership type and your message — is stored in our own database and used only to respond to that inquiry. We send a confirmation email to the address you provide through our email delivery provider, and our team receives an internal notification that contains only the organisation name, partnership type and a reference code — not your personal contact details or your message.

  4. Information collected through external forms

    Registration and application forms on this site are operated through third-party services. Information you type into them is collected by those services and made available to our team:

    Depending on the form, this can include your name, contact details, school or college, city, age or date of birth, and anything you write into free-text fields. When you use one of these forms, the provider's own privacy policy applies to their handling of that data alongside this notice.

    We show a short notice before you are handed off to an external form, so you always know when you are leaving School2Startup's own pages.
  5. Why we use information

    We only use information for the purpose it was collected for:

    • Name and contact details — registration, confirmation and communication about what you signed up for.
    • School, college, class or year — programme administration and eligibility checks.
    • City and state — organising regional participation and logistics.
    • Application or entry responses — evaluation, shortlisting and selection.
    • Project and team information — running the competition or programme you entered.
    • CVs and work samples — evaluating internship and role applications.
    • Technical request information — security, troubleshooting and keeping the website and assistant running.

    We do not use your information for behavioural advertising or ad profiling.

  6. Community registrations

    Community registration is voluntary. It exists so we can add you to the relevant School2Startup community group and send you programme, event and opportunity updates. If you would like to be removed from a community list, write to hello@school2startup.co.in and tell us which community you joined.

  7. Programme and competition registrations

    Many of our programmes and competitions are run with partners, or registration is handled on an external platform such as the organiser's own site, Unstop, or a partner portal. In those cases your entry is submitted to that organiser or platform, and their terms and privacy policy apply to their handling of it alongside this notice.

    Where we receive participant information from a programme, we use it to run that programme — communication, eligibility, evaluation, scheduling and results — and nothing else.

  8. Internship applications

    Internship applications, including any CV, portfolio or work sample you attach, are used only to assess your suitability for the role you applied to and to contact you about it. Applications are reviewed by the School2Startup team. Submitting an application does not create an offer or any commitment.

  9. Data sharing

    We share information only where it is reasonably necessary to run what you signed up for, or where we are required to. That can include:

    • programme, event and community operations within the School2Startup team;
    • competition administration, including mentors, evaluators, judges and facilitators;
    • programme partners and co-organisers for the programme you entered;
    • third-party registration and application platforms used by that programme;
    • hosting, backend, form and AI service providers that operate the website;
    • legal, regulatory or law-enforcement requirements that apply to us.

    We do not publish participant contact details, and we do not pass your information to unrelated organisations for their own marketing.

  10. Children and young users

    A significant part of our audience is under 18. We ask for the minimum information needed to run a program, and we do not use young people's data for advertising, tracking or behavioural profiling.

    If you are under 18, please review and complete any registration or application form together with a parent or guardian, and do not share more than the form asks for.

    We want to be straightforward about where we stand: School2Startup does not currently operate an automated verifiable parental-consent system on this website. Consent is handled through the form itself and through parent or guardian involvement. We are reviewing how to strengthen this, including the requirements under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

    A parent or guardian can ask us to show, correct or delete information relating to their child by writing to hello@school2startup.co.in. Where information sits with a third-party form provider, we will act on it in the systems we control and pass the request on where we can.

  11. Third-party services

    We rely on third parties to operate parts of this website and our programmes. Each of them handles data under its own terms and privacy policy:

    • Tally — community registration forms.
    • Google Forms — internship applications.
    • Unstop and partner platforms — used by some programmes and competitions for registration and entry.
    • Hosting and backend providers — serving this website and its data.
    • AI provider — generating S2S X replies.
    • Vercel Web Analytics — privacy-friendly, aggregate page-view measurement on the hosted site. It does not use cookies and does not build cross-site visitor profiles.

    We link to the relevant provider policy wherever a service is used, and we show a notice before an external hand-off. We cannot control, and make no claims about, how those providers store or retain data in their own systems — please read their policies for that.

  12. S2S X and AI processing

    S2S X is our AI website assistant. When you send it a message, that message and the recent conversation are sent to our server and on to the AI model provider that generates the reply.

    School2Startup does not save S2S X conversation transcripts in its own application database. The conversation you see in the panel is kept in your own browser and you can clear it. We do not control, and therefore do not make claims about, how the AI provider or the hosting layer handle their own logs.

    Please do not type sensitive personal information into the assistant. See the S2S X AI Terms for detail.

  13. Cookies and similar technologies

    This site does not use advertising or profiling cookies. Limited essential browser storage is used — for example, keeping an administrator signed in, and keeping your S2S X conversation visible while you browse. Embedded third-party forms may set their own cookies. Full detail is on the Cookies & Tracking page.

  14. Data security

    We apply practical safeguards to the systems we control: access to administrative areas is restricted and role-checked on the server, media files that are not part of published content are not publicly readable, security headers are applied to responses, and the AI assistant is rate-limited against abuse.

    No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe you have found a vulnerability or a data issue, please report it to hello@school2startup.co.in.

  15. Data retention

    We keep registration and application information for as long as it is needed to run the relevant community, program or hiring process, and to respond to follow-up questions about it. A fixed retention schedule has not been finalised, so rather than state a period we cannot yet stand behind, we will confirm the current position on request — write to hello@school2startup.co.in. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

  16. Your choices and privacy requests

    Subject to applicable law, you can ask us to:

    • tell you what information we hold about you;
    • correct information that is wrong or out of date;
    • delete information we no longer need;
    • stop sending you programme or community communications.

    Send the request to hello@school2startup.co.in with enough detail for us to find your record (for example, which form you filled and roughly when). We respond as quickly as we reasonably can.

  17. Grievance and privacy contact

    If you are unhappy with how your personal data has been handled, write to hello@school2startup.co.in with “Privacy grievance” in the subject line. Your message reaches the School2Startup team directly and will be reviewed by the person responsible for privacy matters.

  18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

    We update this page whenever our data practices change. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on the page itself.
